Try new things and make new friends. Joining Beavers is just the beginning of your adventure.
Beavers are aged between 6 and 8 years
We usually meet on Wednesdays from 18:00 to 19:15 at Cringleford Scout Hut
Subscription costs £35 per term, payable by direct debit though the Online Scout Manager system
You can buy your uniform either online or in person from the Norfolk Scout Shop.
There is no need to buy badges as these will be provided as you earn them. You can check where to put them on your uniform on the national Scouts website.
This is what we have coming-up over the next few weeks.
Wednesday, 16th July
This is when the Beavers have a chance to make their Beaver Scout promise to formally become part of 1st Cringleford Beavers and also the worldwide scouting movement. As Michael said in a previous e-mail, for this event Beavers will need to be wearing their uniform and neckerchief/scout scarf (they’re the same thing!) We will spend the first part of that evening’s session learning about Scouting and the promise and then parents are welcome to come back a little bit earlier to see their child get invested from about 6.55pm. As this group has technically reformed we will be offering all the children the chance to get invested or re-invested. If your child doesn’t need any of the badges they’re given because they already have them, feel free to give them back!! Hopefully your Beaver came home with a printed copy of the Beaver Promise last week which said; I promise to do my best, to be kind and helpful, and to love God. This is the Christian or Jewish version. There are alternatives for different faiths or none. We are planning to use either the one above or, for those who would prefer not to reference God; I promise to do my best, to be kind and helpful, and to love our world. There are other alternatives on the Scouting Website at https://www.scouts.org.uk/volunteers/running-your-section/programme-guidance/information-for-volunteers/the-scout-promise/ If you would like your Beaver to use one of the other versions of the promise have a practice at home and please let me know either this week or at the start of next week’s meeting. Once they get their badges and uniform this page on the scout website shows where on the uniform they should be sewn. https://www.scouts.org.uk/beavers/beavers-uniform-and-badge-placement/
