Scouts are aged between 10½ and 14 years

We usually meet on Tuesdays from 19:00 to 21:00 at Cringleford Scout Hut

Subscription costs £35 per term, payable by direct debit though the Online Scout Manager system

Uniform

You can buy your uniform either online or in person from the Norfolk Scout Shop.

There is no need to buy badges as these will be provided as you earn them. You can check where to put them on your uniform on the national Scouts website.

Tie Dye T Shirts

Tuesday, 4th February
7:00pm to 9:00pm

We will be doing amazing tie dye t-shirts tonight. We will supply the t-shirts and the dye. Each scout will take home their dyed t-shirt in a zip n seal bag on the night after scouts. The t-shirt will need to stay in the bag for 24 hours. You will then need to keep it in the elastic bands and run water through the t-shirt until it runs clear. Once the water runs clear, you can take the elastic bands off and rinse the t-shirt again before drying it.

We will also start planning for our Scout Masterchef which will be next week. Scouts will need to bring along a contact phone number with them tonight so that they can exchange numbers with their cooking team to arrange buying of ingredients etc.

Sleepover at Scout Hut

Saturday, 8th February
10:00am to 9:30am

Arrive at the scout hut at 10am. We will do lots of scouting activities such as hiking/archery/rifle shooting/axe throwing/climbing. We may also go swimming if we can book a pool. I will set up an event on OSM which you will need to sign up to which will include a kit list. The scouts will cook their own breakfast and be ready for pick up at 9.30am on Sunday morning. Cost will be £15.

Scout Masterchef

Tuesday, 11th February
7:00pm to 9:00pm

Cooking doesn't get tougher than this! Scouts will be cooking in teams and will need to produce a two course meal: starter and main or main and dessert. All food will need to be prepared and cooked on the night in the scout hut. Each group will have a 3 ring gas hob to work with along with all cooking pots and utensils. Groups will need to pre-plan their menu and be ready to cook on the night. The budget will be £10 per menu.

Groups will be judged on taste, presentation, team work, menu selection, keeping their cooking area clean and tidy etc. No pre-prepared cook in sauces will be permitted; all meals to be prepped and cooked with ingredients. We will bring a selection of basic ingredients on the night but we suggest that all groups plan and bring what they need.

Improve your Master at Arms skills. We will split into three groups and take part in archery, rifle shooting and axe throwing. Rifle shooting and axe throwing will be outside so please dress up warm.

Pancake Day

Scouts will work in groups to make and cook their own pancakes. There will be lots of choice of fillings for your pancakes; feel free to be creative. If all the cookers and cleaning has been completed, we may have time for a game at the end of the session.

Night Hike from Swardeston

Meet at 7pm in the Swardeston Cricket Ground car park on The Common, Swardeston. You will need a head torch, drink, snack, warm hat and gloves, waterproof jacket and trousers and a small rucksack with proper straps to carry everything in. We will do an exciting adventurous hike and pick up will be from the same car park at 9pm.

Outside wide games and team games

Wear warm clothes and coat (preferable a dark coloured coat so you can hide more easily). We will play games such as Sardines, Capture the Flag, The Lantern Game, Foxchase etc. There will be lots of fun and running around to keep warm.
