Cubs are aged between 8 and 10½ years

We usually meet on Thursdays from 19:00 to 20:30 at Cringleford Scout Hut

Subscription costs £35 per term, payable by direct debit though the Online Scout Manager system

Thursday 29th October

Shooting, History of Scouting and what it means to be a Cub Scout

7:00pm to 8:30pm

Group 2 Will be at HQ taking part in some shooting practice. Group 1 We would like you to visit the Scout Association website using the following link https://www.scouts.org.uk/ to find out facts about the Scouting movement. We would also like you to think about the following statements: What is the motto of Scouting and what it does it mean to you? Think about a time when you did your best and tell us about it. You can present this in anyway you like.

Thursday 5th November

Church Visit & Fabulous Festivals

7:00pm to 8:30pm

Group 1 We will be visiting Peter's Church, Cringleford, NR4 6XL. To have a guided tour with Revd Wilkins. Please meet at the church. Group 2 We want you to spend some time looking at different festivals and find your favourite festival. If you choose to look at a religious festival please find out about one outside of the religion you follow at home. Please write a short passage about what festival is your favourite and why.

Rope Making, Rope Games & Knots Practice

7:00pm to 8:30pm

Group 1 We will be at HQ making rope. Each Cub will need six lengths of wool each one needs to be about 2 metres long. This activity works best if the wool is at least two different colours. If we have time we will play some rope based games. Group 2 Please go to the following link https://www.animatedknots.com/. This website provides access to videos and stage by stage slides which show how to tie lots of really useful knots. For this you will need two length of rope, string or even shoe laces. It is helpful if they are two different colours. Please practice at least the following knots: Reef/Square Knot Bowline Clove Hitch Figure of 8 Knot We would also like you to find out about what different ropes are made of. For example, Climbing ropes, Guy lines for a tent or a skipping rope.

This session will be a zoom meeting for all Cubs to attend from home. We will be cooking some Christmas based treats. More information regarding ingredients and equipment required will be provided provided nearer to the time.
